CAS Compliance Management

Overview
This part-time CAS course, which has been offered since 2019, is aimed at prospective and experienced compliance officers. The course provides in-depth knowledge in areas such as business process management, quality management, risk management and information technology in order to effectively master the challenges of compliance management. In practice-oriented modules, participants learn how to recognise and mitigate risks and develop solutions for compliance violations. The programme combines academic theory with practical applications and prepares participants for international compliance requirements. Further information can be found on theprogramme details page.
Lectures
The pool of lecturers includes renowned experts from national and international academia, business and legal advice. Experienced specialists from leading companies as well as representatives from regulatory authorities and compliance platforms are also involved, sharing their practical knowledge and experience with the participants.

Teaching mode
The programme takes place on Friday afternoons and Saturday mornings.
Time period
The programme is held over 30 half-days on a total of 16 weekends. The programme starts in January and ends in May (excluding examination days). The course days are set taking into account public holidays and the school holidays in the city of Zurich. Subject to change.

Proof of performance & degree
Participants take an oral examination as proof of their performance.
Mandatory attendance
At least 80% of the course must be attended in order to pass the course.
Degree
The Faculty of Law of the University of Zurich awards successful graduates of the programme the title: CAS Certificate of Advanced Studies UZH in Compliance Management
ECTS Credits
The Faculty of Law of the University of Zurich awards 15 ECTS credits to successful graduates of the programme.
Costs
The CAS Compliance Management costs CHF 9'800.00. The course fee includes the costs for the digital course materials, the examination fees and the graduation ceremony. The costs for any excursions and special literature are not included.
Application
Applications are made directly on the website using the application form.
A university degree and practical experience are required for admission. In exceptional cases, persons with comparable qualifications and specific practical experience may also be admitted ‘sur dossier’. The study committee can also make admission dependent on a successful admissions interview.
